What if astrology was not about predicting your future, blaming Mercury retrograde or letting someone on the internet tell you who you are?

In this episode of The Unity Code, Nicole sits down with astrologer, designer, holistic guide and mentor Hollis Maloney to explore how astrology can become a practical tool for self-awareness, emotional healing, creative expression and embodied decision-making.

Hollis shares how she blends astrology, somatic awareness and creativity to help people understand what is happening in their minds, bodies, relationships and businesses. They discuss how the current astrological weather can influence your emotions without controlling your choices, why the body often recognizes truth before the mind does and how learning your personal patterns can create more space, self-compassion and trust.

The conversation also explores finding your authentic voice in business, navigating relationships without abandoning yourself, following the moon as an accessible introduction to astrology and why your Chiron placement may reveal some of your greatest wisdom as a teacher, healer or leader.

Nicole and Hollis also get honest about clickbait astrology, the obsession with Mercury retrograde, major collective shifts unfolding through 2026 and 2027 and what it looks like to change direction when a business offering no longer feels aligned.

Most importantly, Hollis offers a powerful reminder: astrology should help you understand yourself more deeply, not encourage you to surrender your authority. You still get to decide what feels true, what belongs to you and how you want to move through your life.

Welcome And Why Astrology Matters

SPEAKER_01

Hi everyone, welcome back to the Unity Code. I am here today with Hollis Maloney, a designer, astrologer, holistic guide, and mentor whose work weaves together creative expression, somatic awareness, and the language of the cosmos. I am so excited to have you here today, Hollis.

SPEAKER_00

I'm so excited to be here, Nicole. Thank you so much for having me.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, I'm so I'm so ready for this conversation. So, why Hollis is on here, and what I love about her work is that she brings astrology out of the abstract and into real life. And it's not just about like birth charts or horoscopes or blaming Mercury retrograde because like your inbox is being feral. Uh, it's more about understanding the energetic weather we're moving through, how that lives in the body and how we use astrology as a practical tool for timing, planning, self-expression, and decision making. And this feels so aligned with this podcast because the Unity Code is all about how do we work with things that are unseen in a way that helps us live our lives better. I'm so excited because you are like we were chatting earlier, you are kind of the energetic opposite of me because I know nothing about astrology, right? I like

Meet Hollis And Energetic Weather

SPEAKER_01

I'm in my mind all the time. I'm not less in my body. And so, like, this is gonna be such an amazing conversation to understand a whole different perspective for me and for our listeners about how we use astrology in the body and semantics and creativity to really like design the life that you love.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Our conversation earlier was so interesting, Nicole, because I also felt like there were so like our our our business and our work is actually very similar, like it's very parallel, but just using different tools. And so I'm excited to chat with you because I feel like, yes, you you live in your head, as you just said, but also we all do. Astrology is also very, very heady. And I think that it's my work, at least with my clients, is bridging the gap between what's going on in their head, what they might not even be seeing in their own mind, and then also how they can access those blind spots or gain like a more robust perspective of what they are thinking and feeling based off of what's going on in their body and their somatic experience. So my gods. Yeah, I'm excited to chat about all of it.

SPEAKER_01

So good. I'd like seriously, I can't I'm sure all the listeners are like, okay, this is exactly why she has Hollis on this podcast. So, do you want to start by telling me like a little bit about yourself and how you got into this work?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So it's definitely a rambling journey of trying lots of hats on and seeing what fit and what didn't. But I will say, so my my background is mostly in graphic design. And that was like my safe choice because my mom's a graphic designer. I grew up in her design studio. And so when I was figuring out what I wanted to do as a career, I was like, I know how to do this. I've essentially been doing this my whole life. But I was always looking for something deeper, something that was more um, more connected to like, what is the point of us being here? Why am I in this body living this life? Why do I feel the way that I do? Why um, why do I have these reactions? Like all the kind of more um personal internal uh questions that we all have to grapple with being humans in these, you know, in these vessels that we have to journey through our lives with. And so when I graduated um from the School of Visual Arts in New York, I quickly found yoga and I did my yoga teacher training. And that was my first entry into um really understanding how my body had been operating based off of different reactions, different emotions,

Design Roots And Yoga Awakening

SPEAKER_00

different um, like how my body was guiding me and protecting me and telling me where to go and what to do, and and and just trying to create safety for me and how um how I could interrupt any sort of like instinctual or reactive responses with just a little bit of mindfulness and a little bit of just tending to and and being with my body. And so that was really expansive because it felt like um, you know, similar to what I just said, it felt like I had been living very much in this kind of amorphous world in my head for so long, not really understanding what emotions were doing for me or where I was being guided by my body. And then I started to gain some clarity into like what my nervous system was, what where it was directing me. And so I taught yoga for um about 10 years. I opened a yoga studio, and during the time that I had my yoga studio, I started um recognizing how much I loved also working with people and putting them in places where they could exercise their strengths and they could actually do the things that they really wanted to do. Um, because I had amazing teachers that wanted to host workshops or people that wanted to create um, you know, specific kinds of events. And I was giving them a platform and an opportunity to do that in the studio. And that's where I started recognizing, like, oh, this is where I I also personally shine being able to sit with people to pull out what it is they really want to do and giving them a space to um, a space, and then also giving them a lot of support and being able to do the things that they wanted to do. And so um it was around that time as well that my lifelong interest in astrology started getting more and more becoming more and more present. And I started studying it more um intensely. And it was around COVID when we ended up having to close the studio that I just dove like headfirst into my astrological studies because um it was just like it was screaming at me that this was something that I needed to study and and learn more about. And so really since then, there's been this really interesting, this really interesting and interesting in my view, play of how I weave all of those things together. Um, not just design, which is very like solutions-based, creative, um, taking an idea and actually turning it into something that is material and real and something that exists in the real world, but also, you know, how I can work with people to access what it is that they most want to express and produce and create for themselves. And then also using the tools of astrology to help people, you know, work through any sort of blocks in themselves to give language to parts of themselves that perhaps they didn't um have language for before, etc. So that's my journey in a nutshell, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

God getting a reading or get having a session with you must be just insane because you have such a background in like the semantics and in the body, as well as like the um the astrology. So you must have so many tools that allow you to really just dive right into, you know, exactly what your client needs and probably how to resolve it.

SPEAKER_00

There's I've gathered a lot of things over the years, I will say that. I mean, it's not always, you know, sometimes when a person comes to me, and I'm sure you've experienced this too, it can take a little bit of um finessing to understand what it is they they most gravitate towards. Um, you know, sometimes we can go headfirst into the somatics piece, and that's really the most important and accessible place for them to go. Sometimes it is more creative-based work. I do a lot of um like peripheral creative therapy type practices to help people get into their self-expression. And sometimes it's purely astrology. I mean, and there's also been things along the way. Like I've done a lot of work around understanding the language of our emotions and how emotions move through us and move through our bodies and propel us to act and um and what we're being called to do emotion by emotion, moment by moment, feeling by feeling. And um, and so yeah, it's really just like learning the person enough to know what are the tools that they most need, and then being able to offer those tools to them. Um, but yeah, I try I try to bring as much, as many things as possible to people because um, because everybody grows and learns about themselves differently. And I think it's important to have options.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and these are such amazing avenues and options for them to I'm gonna say like open the door, because I think that's probably what you do in some aspects for maybe newer clients is opening the door using a tool, an aspect, a perspective that allows them to feel more comfortable and safe. And then you probably probably like have so much under the surface that you can help them with. So I I guess maybe I'm wondering what are some common themes or what is, you know, what are some of the more common things that you see people are coming to you with to get help with and like how I I don't know. I think I want to ask you that question.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. A lot of people will come to me with a lot of it starts with some, some, some, some, the, excuse me, something that is relational, whether it's some sort of relational component within themselves or actually relationships with other people in their life. So I've worked with people who have like difficult family dynamics that they're navigating navigating, or folks who are just getting into the dating world after, you know, not you know, being in a relationship for 10 years and then just getting back onto the dating scene, or folks who are um, you know, coming out of a very difficult relationship and trying to create enough um love and support internally for themselves again. There's a lot, there's an interesting relational component to most of the work that I do. It's um it's sometimes related to business or entrepreneurship or like again, creative expression,

Blending Somatics Creativity And Astrology

SPEAKER_00

but a lot of the time it has something to do with how do I navigate um this conflictual, sticky, tricky relationship with another person and how do I hold myself in the process and um and stay close to my own values and build myself as I build alongside this other person. So it's not something that I actually put on my website so much because I'm not, I do not necessarily consider myself like a relationship coach, but I do find that that's what a lot of people come to me for or come to me with.

SPEAKER_01

So well, it has to start with like a problem, right? Like people wouldn't be booking these sessions, and it's true with me too, if they didn't have something that was, you know, out of normal with their life, out of their alignment, out of their vibrational frequency. And so it's so that is so neat. So, how do you I I mean uh there's so many questions I want to ask you. So like what we talked about the journey to find your business. Like, how I guess, like, how would you is there anything that you talk about on like how you use these tools like astrology and somatics, or like do you how like can we go into some of the weeds there about like maybe what a typical session might look like with you and and how you combine all of these incredible modalities into your own like secret sauce? Because I what I find Hollis is there's so many people that have this passion for like just like you, like two or three really, really deep things, and they go really, really deep on them and they come together and they're like, Well, I can't make a business out of these three three things, they're seemingly completely unrelated, and you are the epitome, the example that other people can use to say, no, you can absolutely take these three different things that I love and bring them together. So I'd love for you to kind of talk about that. And then I know also like you're evolving with your business as well, right? Which is part of the journey too. So um, so if you're cool with that, let's like dive into that a little bit about how you use these different modalities together and like how has it evolved for you?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's it has definitely been a journey of trying to understand how they fit together. And I will say that at the what I always come back to is the the foundation of my business and of my work and of what I feel like my main skill is being able to do is to be able to take something that is inside of somebody that might not make sense or they might not be able to see clearly and help them shape it, make sense of it, understand it to a point where they feel safe enough to express it in some way, to be able to put it out into the world. There, it's a lot of being able to clarify the vision and then make that vision real. And I know that that sounds a little bit um like a little it, it's it sounds like something that would be nice to say, but it's like, how do we actually do that? You know? And so in a session or in sessions with my clients, what I will usually do is we'll start with the pain point. We'll start with like what is working, what is not working in your life. And then I'll feel into what, you know, where is that showing up in your body? Where is that showing up in how you're actually living inside of your vessel? How is that also showing up in your day-to-day like routines, the mundane stuff that you're doing that maybe you're doing unconsciously? And then also what is the what is the big issue? Like if it's something with, you know, the your dating life, for example, what are you finding yourself doing on a regular basis that is um that is actually the obstacle? And what is the actual thing that you want? And so I work on these kind of three different levels, and then what we usually do is in every session, there's always a check-in with the body. There's always a check-in with like, how have you been feeling? What has your body been feeling? What is something that you encountered, you know, since our last session that you felt very tangibly in your body, and can we kind of parse that apart? And that usually provides an opening for us to be able to discuss the the ripple effect of how that's showing up in the rest of their, in the rest of their lives and everything else that they're doing.

Why Relationship Pain Brings People In

SPEAKER_00

So that is always the entry point. There's always usually a description of like what the astrological weather is as well, because it's it's the internal experience, but then it's also the external uh energy in the room, I would say, that's like influencing what we're doing. So, easiest example, like if it is Mercury retrograde, and let's say, you know, they did send the email and it wasn't received very well or something, we can kind of talk about it. And that provides also enough separation. Astrology usually provides enough separation from the experience so that it doesn't feel quite as personalized. It's almost like there's a little bit of space to say, okay, that maybe that wasn't entirely me. I can feel a little bit um, I can I can create a little bit of breathing room to see like how that, how I could potentially approach that situation differently in the future, or I could have, you know, handled it differently, et cetera. Um, so there's always a little bit of discussion of that. And what I always give my clients is I give them some practices in between our sessions to be able to explore, you know, whatever has been coming up, whatever the pain point is, through different outlets. So I will often give them either some sort of creative practice that helps them actually move the energy through the through the body or like through the mind so that it's not just like sitting within them. Um, or sometimes I'll give them a somatic practice specifically as well for kind of the same purpose. Um, sometimes I give them journaling practices, et cetera. But it's really, again, giving them multiple avenues for being able to move the energy and to move them forward. And that's kind of the the point of having all of the different options is it's not about it's it's not about which one is right or wrong. It's which one will help move you in the direction that you're wanting to move. And there's a variety of different ways that energy can be moved. It's just finding the one that feels the most aligned for you.

SPEAKER_01

God, I love that. And and what have you seen as outcomes for some of your clients that have like gone through this experience? Because I I it's I know it's not easy, and it doesn't sound easy by any means. And it sounds like it's a very in-depth, you know, iterative process with the clients and understanding it, but how have you seen like using the astrology and the semantics and the creative expression um show up, allow clients to show up, allow people to show up differently and kind of transform either their perspective or their life?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I um I'm like trying to pick up. I know it's hard. Yeah, yeah. So, well, because so there's just like there's there's a few people that come to mind that I'm just like they they hit it out of the ballpark. Every, every person that comes to me, they have everything that they need, and it's just a matter of them applying it in a way that they actually see it and they recognize themselves doing it, and they like build enough strength and trust in themselves that they're like, oh, I can do this myself. And so, and I say that because what I'll usually work with people for a season around 12 weeks, but then ultimately it's in the subsequent subsequent weeks and months after that that what they've been searching for actually unfolds. So, for example, um, one client of mine came to me. She was in this long-term manipulative relationship. Their lives were very wrapped up together. Um, they had pets together, they didn't they didn't have children together, but she was she was financially dependent on him and um and emotionally in so many ways, and she wanted to leave the relationship and she also wanted to go back to school and um so that she could develop um a new a new avenue for her career. And during our time together, she didn't do any of those things, but after six months, she sent me this message and she was like, I have moved out. I am applied, I have applied to these different programs, and I'll be starting for my master's. I think it was like in a couple months, and she's it was amazing the steps that she took. And everything that we did together was like laying the foundation for her to be able to make those big leaps and jumps for herself. And it so when I do work with folks, it's it's really interesting because it's almost like we're cracking open the shells or we're like setting down the seeds so that they can open and they can like root in first, and then the work that then comes from all of that foundation laying then becomes the actual plant that grows and like the the produce that you can eat later on, um, if if that's a good metaphor. And I'll just

Inside A Session From Body Check-In

SPEAKER_00

give you another example. Um, I had another client who came to me, and I was kind of using her as an example earlier. She hadn't been dating for um several years because she had been in a relationship where she had been um she had been cheated on and she was just feeling very betrayed, and so she was going through this process of trying to open herself back up into the dating world. And um, and it was it was a very rocky couple weeks with while I was working with her because she'd go on these dates and she'd report back to me about like how the dates went, and we'd be kind of like dissecting them in these different ways. Um, but anyways, after our 12 weeks, I think it was like about three months later, she ended up meeting somebody. Um she was going to school at the same time. She ended up dropping out of school, but she she ended up meeting somebody around that time um who later became her husband. And so little things like that that wow I guess I guess not little, but experiences like that where we might not necessarily see the exact outcome while we're together, but again, we're laying the foundation, we're laying the groundwork. So, um, and I I don't ever feel like I can take credit for the work that these people are doing because again, it's them committing to the process of their own self-discovery and learning themselves and just again making those aligned choices day by day um to help them feel more embodied in themselves and what they actually want. And then eventually the big things that they want do come via all these little actions over the course of time.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and I would almost I would honestly hollow spite you to say it is you, right? It is you because you are playing, stop being humble. Come on, girl. Um, because you are laying the foundation for for what makes it possible. And I and you're creating that safe space for them to grow and evolve and and look at things differently, and also like understanding the the external circumstances that are also influencing their behaviors and their actions, their thoughts at the time, too. So it's almost like you're combining the collective energy that everyone is feeling. God, this is a year, huh? As well as um how they feel in their body and like making making them feel safe and secure in their decisions. And to your to your point, like it's little steps, but it's little steps that are in their pure vibrational alignment that allows them to eventually achieve the goal that they've had all along that they know is possible along, but they wouldn't be able to do it if you didn't put them on that best path and plant those seeds with them. So, like, yes, yes, it is you. It's okay.

SPEAKER_00

I always consider myself um like a collaborator. Like I am there with the other person, and it is based off of what I mean. I think I think that you do this too. It's like you feel you feel into them and what it is they're they're actually saying without saying it, right? Like what's under what they're saying. And then you ask the right questions. You ask the you ask the right questions and you provide the right um or like the most aligned opportunity. For them to then find the answers themselves. And that's the part that I'm like, that's my job, you know, as the guide, as the service provider, as the you know, coach, whatever you want to, whatever you want to call me, astrologer, whatever. But then they do the work. You do. So I always think of it as they don't have to do the work. You know, they could just be coasting along and I could be giving them everything that I think I should be giving them, and they could say, you know, I don't want to do that. And ultimately, I give the credit to them because the work is the really hard part. And um, and none of my clients would be, would have gotten where they wanted to be without putting in that work.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh, yeah, and I completely agree with that because I mean that's the whole conversation about free will and and whether or not they are willing to do the work to see their future, because we can't do the work for them, but we can guide them, we can show up, we can give them the perspective, we can kind of push them out of the nest, but they're the ones that have to do the work. But um, but I think that's the embodiment of being such a wonderful guide and coach or whatever, whatever term that you want to use is is you give them the possibility, right? The tools to make it possible, right? You you are essentially setting them up for success so that they can walk that walk confidently with all of the tools that you're giving them. And I just I love that so much, Hollis. And I think what you do is so needed. And I know that you're not, I know that a lot of the examples so far have been in the relationship aspect, but I know that you're doing this with businesses too. Is that right?

SPEAKER_00

I am mostly with, again, with folks and their um their own business, like their their voice in their business and their again, their creative expression in their business, because that is also the part that I think a lot of a lot of entrepreneurs struggle with is understanding what am I supposed to say and when am I supposed to say it and how am I supposed to say it. And I think that that is such an interesting it's it's such an interesting place to sit and work with people because I I say this all the time. It's the most difficult but most human experience to take what's inside you and put it out into the world, like to be able to put it out and in a way that people actually understand and it resonates with them. And the truth is the only way to put something out into the world that resonates with other people is to find deep resonance within yourself first. And that's again where the somatics comes in, where um we're understanding where perhaps these energetic blockages might live, or where your body gets tense or tight, or where you're not willing to go in your body. And um, and being able to create more open pathways for your expression to just come out of you very naturally and in a in a way that is very aligned and feels very true and authentic to you, makes it so that whatever it is that you're putting out into the world is finding its way to the people that it that need to find it, right? And so

Real Client Shifts Over Time

SPEAKER_00

that's where it's less um, yeah, it is less relational relational, but honestly, it's very similar in process because it's still very somatically based. We will focus on different aspects of your own astrology and like again what the astrological weather is potentially doing to your creative expression or to your voice or what we're saying or how we're feeling. But um, but yeah, it's it's a very similar process.

SPEAKER_01

I love that. So what are some my I love giving my listeners practical tools that they can use and walk away with? So, do you have any like recommendations that you or tools that you end up giving most of your clients or a lot of your clients that help them either somatically, astrologically? Like, what are some tools that folks can kind of be aware of that help them either embody themselves or realize the collective energies that are out there that can really help them in their day-to-day?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's really that's really interesting. So there's a few tools that I always give to people no matter what. Um and one is actually very, very practical. It's actually just nonviolent communication.

SPEAKER_01

It's the it's I know some people who wouldn't be successful in that.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's it's not it's not a method that I created at all. It's something that you can look up, and it's actually for when you have difficulty expressing something either to yourself or to your partner, or to actually figure out what it is you're even feeling in the first place. Um, it gives you an actual formula to be able to follow, to be able to say what it is that you want to the person that you want it from, whether that be, you know, again, a partner or yourself or whatever. And so that is something I give to all of my clients just because, again, we're not given a lot of tools for actual communication and being able to name what it is that we want and in a way that um is not you know diminishing what we want or um protecting the other person. And so that is a tool that I love to give people um just to help with being able to say what they want, being able to name it and to be able to name it um again in a like a really graceful and articulate way. So that's number one. Um, in terms of like the astrological weather, that is a much harder question to answer. I always go back to following the moon because the moon is our closest celestial body, and it's kind of like the satellite that projects all the other planetary movements and communicates it back to us, and it communicates us, communicates it to us through um, yes, through our emotions, but also and through our body, but also through um just like how we're feeling day to day with other people. And so if if if folks want to start paying attention to how the greater astrology is affecting them, I always say just start paying attention to what signs the moon is in, because the moon changes signs every two and a half days, and notice how you feel when when the moon is in those signs, because that'll tell you a lot. Yeah. Well, so for example, like when the moon is in Aries, that's opposite my natal moon, I always get agitated more easily. I have less patience. I just, I just my fuse is a little bit shorter. And so knowing that, I know that if the moon is in Aries, I I have that just like in my peripheral awareness about myself, and I can be like, oh, if I, you know, if I have a little less patience, it's okay. It's something that's gonna pass in the next couple days. I can hold myself with a little more grace. Um, so little things like that, and that I think is like a fantastic, easy entry point for people to start paying attention to how the cosmos is being interpreted through their own particular lens.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh, that's so interesting. And I um I didn't realize the moon moves every two and a half days. That's wild. Yeah, that's wild. See, this is Greek to me, Hollis. I need to start researching this. Um, I have this little fun section. I I did I um this little like very quick, rapid fire astrology answer for you. I know like astrology isn't the only thing you do, but I but I know a lot of my listeners are big into astrology, so I thought this might be a little fun bit fun for them. Let's see. Um can't so this is not meant to be like big, deep answers or deep thoughts, but you go as deep as you want to, but like okay with one or two word answers, too. So, what is an astrology trend that you are over right now?

SPEAKER_00

This is so easy. The clickbait astrology that just like makes everything so much bigger than it actually is. It is is it it infuriates me, honestly, because it'll take it'll take something like we just had a Venus-Jupiter conjunction um in Cancer. Beautiful, a beautiful, beautiful placement, um, beautiful arrangement in the sky, but that's going to affect everybody differently based off of their charts. It's gonna be really big for some people and it's gonna be really small for some people. And there were also a lot of other things happening in the sky that were also kind of challenging. And so for all these astrologers to say, like, the best day of your life is gonna be on June 9th and candy's gonna rain down from the sky, whatever, like that to me is just um, it's as bad as any other like clickbait dopamine spiking, adrenaline spiking headlines that is just trying to gain your attention and it's doing a disservice to the industry, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_01

I love that so much. I I yeah, I yep, I agree with you. I there's so much clickbaity-y everything. What is the most overhyped transit for you?

Finding Your Voice In Business

SPEAKER_00

Mercury Retrograde.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, definitely. What is a placement you wish people knew more about?

SPEAKER_00

Ooh. Ooh, that is a good one. Their Chiron placement.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. All right. That one's been coming up recently with friends of mine, so that makes sense. Yeah. People are like, you need to look into your Chiron. I was like, I have no idea what my Chiron is.

SPEAKER_00

I have a whole specific reading specifically for Chiron because it's such a powerful placement. Yeah, especially for um for teachers, for mentors, for any sort of people who are in leadership positions. Um, because it's the the title for Chiron is The Wounded Healer, but it's about learning where you have been, um, like where you are most tender and where you have been the most activated or wounded, quote unquote, in your life, literally or figuratively, and how you're teaching and leading and guiding from those spaces, and how much wisdom you carry from that. So I always also attribute the quote from Rumi: the wound is where the light enters you, as like an example of the energy that Chiron brings. So I love talking about people's Chiron's placements or on placements.

SPEAKER_01

I'm definitely gonna put that link in the show notes for people to go book with you on that one. That one sound that sounds amazing. Um, let's see. What is an upcoming collective influence that's gonna make you go, oh shit?

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Um we're in it right now.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not gonna lie. Um Uranus and Gemini, particularly in the United States, if people pay attention to astrology at all, it aligns with some very difficult things in our history. And so I know that it's gonna be kind of a shape-shifting of our own social order in a lot of ways. So, and we're already in that, but I will also say we have two things coming up. There's one in October, there's a Venus and Mercury retrograde in Scorpio and Libra, which I know is gonna be very, very tender for a lot of people. And then we have a Mars retrograde at the beginning of um uh 2027, that's in Virgo and Leo. And I know that that also Mars retrogrades are very challenging for people because it just brings up all of the things that you either intentionally choosing not to address or any sort of conflicts that you are avoiding, and it puts you puts them in your face and says you have to deal with this now. And it's very uncomfortable in a like in a spectrum of experience um for

Nonviolent Communication Plus Lunar Tracking

SPEAKER_00

people. So those two are are more personal, but also just like collectively, there's a lot of things happening right now that I could talk about forever. So I'll save those for another time.

SPEAKER_01

A lot. And then maybe my last one, and this is more personal for me, I guess, because I'm wondering this astrologically, what looks worse, 2026 or 2027?

SPEAKER_00

Ooh, you know, I don't think that I can answer that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, fair. I love that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'll just save it right there.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, because everyone keeps talking about like 2027, and I'm just like, I don't, I hear there's gonna be it's gonna be disruptive. I don't know if it's gonna be good or bad, but I heard disruptive.

SPEAKER_00

So what I will say is that and a lot of astrologers have described it this way 2025 was like the pilot episode. 2026 is like episode number two, and then we're like fully into the the season, like the whole season of the show. And so 2027, we just like it. I I am looking at it as like it's an extension of 2026, and we just kind of keep progressing through the storyline. Um but it's I'm for people who are astrologically um literate, like I'm a Sagittarius Rising, I'm extremely optimistic. I always see things and say, like, you know what, this wouldn't be happening if if certain outcomes didn't need to come to us. Like, I think that you can look at most of the planet and say, we've been operating out of misalignment for a long time. And so if we're being jarred into something that feels uncomfortable or like we're being jarred into some kind of change that is really destabilizing, it it has to happen. So, and I and I say that, and I know that that also can sound very um like dismissive of a lot of the pain that is actually unfolding all over the planet, and I don't mean to do that at all. I just think that there's like a lot of change that is going to be out of our control that we um we have we have to learn how to work with, we have to learn how to move with.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's good, yeah. It's go with the flow or face resistance because eventually you're gonna have to go with the flow. Um, oh God, I love that. And I love your answer because I love and obviously don't know too much about like all these, I mean, I'm I'm a Leo or Libra double double Aries. Um, but like, so I mean I fight a lot, but I but I would say like I love the fact that you mentioned like you're the Sagittarius and you're you have this very positive outlook. And I I agree with you because I think that everything does happen for a reason. It might not be comfortable, it might not be easy, but I think that there's an outcome that society that the planet is going through. And I just and I I think I'm on the same page as you. It it means that you know some people are gonna have a bit difficult circumstances, but everything is gonna end up where it needs to be because it has been so misaligned for so long.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, and there's also a lot of things, and I'm sure you talk about this in your work as well. Like, there's a lot of things that we can't see on this material plane that we can't necessarily understand or make sense of. And there is a part of me that has just a lot of deep faith for all the things that we don't know. And that's where I find a lot of trust, especially in situations where we can't explain why things are happening the way that they're happening. I can even look to the planets and say, like, okay, I can understand energetically why this is being transmitted to us in this way, but ultimately I don't know what the bigger, the bigger story is. And um, and we gotta kind of just trust that if we're gonna get out of this with any sort of um what's the word that I'm thinking of?

SPEAKER_01

Without going crazy. Yeah, yes, yeah. Um, so switching gears just a little bit. I know that you have an offering that is coming up called Trusted Timing. Do you want to talk about that? Because I feel like that's the appropriate next thing to talk about based on all of these astrological signs in transit and all the craziness that's going on.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I actually I should have told you this, Nicole. I'm yeah, I'm no longer going to be offering that.

SPEAKER_01

Ooh, okay. That's fine. So, what is so then how because you have such knowledge about all of the like all of the astrology, all of the body, all of these, like and like whether or not you're actually doing the trusted timing, like you are somebody who does work with people to do this work within um within your space, within your space, like making them feel more comfortable, making them divinely express themselves. So how

Rapid Fire Astrology Myths And Chiron

SPEAKER_01

like how can people work with you? How do people get in touch with you? Like, what would you love to see people come to come to you for?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so right now, so I just want to preface that there's been like a lot of changes internally for me over the last couple of weeks. I told you I recently got married. Like, there's just been a lot of things where I feel like I'm being asked to, I'm being asked to stretch my own personal expression in new ways. Yes. And so my main offering that um that has stayed for years is is just my um my coaching containers. I have two paths. I we can either do individual sessions or we can do the seasonal 12-week sessions. Um, those, again, everything that I've talked about here, I offer in those sessions. And so that's kind of like my foundational work that I love to do with people, the real deep transformative work. Um, I still have my astrology readings. I have a variety of different readings that people can come to me for, but I was going to build trusted timing as this kind of new robust container where I could work with people specifically on their own personal astrological timing. And that just feels like it's actually too confining at this point. And I don't want to put um like deadlines or or make people feel like they have to optimize their time. And that's where I felt like that offering was starting to pull me, and it just feels too limiting when I'm working with people. I want there to be more space for intuition to guide folks and for it to be less um less attached to what we're interpreting the cosmos as saying based off of when things should be happening or how things should be happening. So um, so that's the reason why I'm putting that to the side. But the the main coaching offerings are all still there and the readings are there.

SPEAKER_01

Can I just say like, bravo? And and um, like I'm not editing this out because I think it's so real and so important for other people to hear that like sometimes we put stuff out there and like it's either the wrong timing, we learn more, we grow and evolve. And so I absolutely love that you have this passion for divine timing. And so you're like, let me create this thing. And then also at the same time realizing that intuitively it's not the best thing for your clients. And like uh it's very easy, and this is not about this is not like a reflection on you, Hollis, but it's very easy. I'm gonna put this back on myself because I do the same damn thing. Um, it's very easy for us as business owners to double like doubt ourselves, get upset at ourselves, like to like put these things out there that we think are the right direction, then it ends up shifting or moving directions. And like, this is what soul-led entrepreneurialism looks like. It is having this like passion for something so much that you put something out there, but then if you put it out there and it's the wrong thing and it doesn't serve your clients the right way, like that is the stubbornness I don't want to see in business leaders and business owners and soul-led businesses because you have to grow and evolve with the business. And that's exactly what you're doing. So, like, I just want to give you giant freaking kudos, Hollis, for like knowing that that's an intuitive part of your business, but also probably taking what you were gonna put in there and like integrating it into your other tools and offerings in a much more grounded practical way and like evolving your business in the way that best suits you.

SPEAKER_00

I fucking love it. Like, I love it. Thank you. Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. And I think like, thank you for talking about it because this is just something that people don't talk about. We think that if we put something out there, it has to be right, it has to be perfect, it has to be complete. That is not how soul-led entrepreneurialism works, everybody.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I've been there too many times to know that I don't want to do it again because when you do end up forcing something, it it ends up feeling so much worse afterwards. You know, I'm I I'm less proud of it, I'm less happy with myself because I did it. Like, there's so many reasons why I'm like, I I only have to do the things that, again, I know are very important and align for my clients and supportive of my clients, and also feel really good as they're being created through me because otherwise it's it's not gonna make sense on the other side. It's gonna feel really forced.

SPEAKER_01

So, yeah, and this is what this is what your intuition looks like, everybody. Like, this is it. And I love this so much. And like I would put my money on any business owner that does exactly what we're talking about right now. Um, because I know that they're continuously investing in your business. I know you're continuously investing in your business, I know you're continually learning, stretching, growing, finding

Collective Transits And Trust Through Change

SPEAKER_01

new ways to provide value and like transformations for your clients and um being able and being willing to show up in whatever format feels right. Like, bravo. It's incredible. It's incredible.

SPEAKER_00

I just think that we're very lucky to be doing this work. Um, that's what I feel most days because I can't imagine having to show up to a nine to five and being forced to do something that like doesn't feel feel this exciting in my body every day. So I really just am very, very grateful more than yes.

SPEAKER_01

Same here. So, how can people get in touch with you? What where where's the best place for them to and talk about your podcast too? That I'll be on as well.

SPEAKER_00

So, um, yes, so Nicole's gonna be on my podcast, which is very exciting. We had a great conversation. I can't wait to put out. Um So, my podcast is The Designed Life. I also have a substack called The Designed Life. Um, you can find my website, which is just hollismm.com. That's where most of my offerings are. I honestly would say that my newsletter on my website is the best place to find me right now because it's kind of like my protected garden space. Like I I put all of what's going on in my life and my business, all of the offerings into that newsletter. It's separate from my Substack. And um, that's where you'll probably see the most of me right now. Um, but I'm also on threads and Instagram, and people can find me there.

SPEAKER_01

All the things, all the things. Is there anything else you feel called to share with the audience? Say anything we didn't cover that you want to make sure we're sharing.

SPEAKER_00

I think just that, you know, for the folks who are really interested in astrology and especially interested in astrology, helping them make sense of who they are. I would just say that whatever astrological information you're coming across, also ask yourself if it feels true to you. Don't just take whatever astrologer you're reading or listening to. Don't just take their interpretation as fact. Run it through your own body, run it through your own, your own system first and assess does that actually sound like you? Because at the end of the day, you know yourself better than anybody else. And yes, astrology is there to help us have more, like a broader, more robust language and understanding of ourselves, but really um you get to decide if it's you or if it's not you, not somebody on the internet or on a podcast telling you what's true or not true.

SPEAKER_01

I think you are the only astrologer I know that has said that.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I it's I mean, at the end of the day, yeah, I want people to have the power in their own hands.

Letting Go Of Trusted Timing

SPEAKER_00

And there's all these people, like I can put so many different astrologers or spiritual leaders or coaches in the same place as you know all of these um like different I just think about like in the yoga world, there's been so many incredible teachers who have risen to power only for us to find out later that they were, you know, abusers or you know, they were abusing their power. And so I just at the end of the day, I want people to trust their own instincts and intuition more than anything else and not feel like that they have to give their power away to somebody.

SPEAKER_01

I absolutely love that, and I could not agree more with you. And I think that is probably why I've personally not wanted to get into astrology because it does feel so black and white, because most people are like, well, this is happening, and then this is happening, and that means this, and that means this, and none of it has ever felt true for me. And so it's really interesting to hear you say that as well. And so, like, you might just be that amazing person, that amazing soul that gets me to start looking a little bit closer for at astrology. So thank you, Hollis. I appreciate you.

SPEAKER_00

Happy to open that door for you, Nicole. I appreciate if you walk through it or not.

SPEAKER_01

I know it's true. That is yes, yes. And I'll be kicking myself in the ass if I don't, I'm sure. So I just want to thank you so much for being here today, Hollis. I had such a lovely time chatting with you and sharing, and just like I'm sure my listeners absolutely love listening to your stories, your perspective, and how you really help people. I'm just so grateful that you're here.

SPEAKER_00

Well, thank you so much for the opportunity, Nicole. This has been so much fun. It's been so great chatting with you all day. So thank you for having me on.

SPEAKER_01

Awesome. Um, and for everyone listening, check out the show notes. All of Hollis's information will be in there. It sounds like she has some amazing readings, some amazing, amazing coaching opportunities. And like, I'm literally gonna go look at this Chiron reading shortly after this. So I encourage you to do the same. So thank you, everyone. Take care.
